Introduction

I am Kamalavelan. I live in Pondicherry, India. I work as an SRE for my day job / employment. Akamai Technologies is my current employer.

I am deeply interested in techno-politics, I am currently the secretary for the Free Software Hardware Movement in Puducherry (https://www.fshm.org). I also partake in activism and protests in my cities.

Who is Demonshreder™?

I started using the name ‘demonshreder’ inspired from my cousin ‘moonshreder’ when I first forayed into online gaming. It soon became my commonly used Internet handle across many web services.

Gaming

I love to play video games and have been playing some online and offline video games from my childhood. Some of my favourites over time are AoE, Civ, C&C, DotA, TF2, AC, Arkham series, Witcher etc.

Technology

I have an exciting interest in technology in general have wasted countless hours of my life reading Wikipedia or watching videos of how things are made or done. Over time I have acquired some skill and knowledge specific to IT and that has led me to search for and provided me with employment in the field.

Homelab

I run a modest homelab for my personal services and even this site is hosted from there.

Politics

I have been a fan of left-wing politics since my childhood and later was introduced to Marxism-Leninism and have been deepening that perspective since.
